ABOUT ME

Dr Julian Barratt FIMA

I teach mathematics and physics at all secondary school levels and have taught physics undergraduates at the University of Oxford and supervised post-graduate financial mathematics students from Imperial College London.

Additionally, I am an examiner for the Cambridge International Board in iGCSE physics and A-level Further Mathematics.

I have a doctorate in atomic physics from the University of Oxford and am a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.

For over twenty years I worked for banks in the City of London and Singapore, applying mathematics to their trading and risk management operations - including twelve years at Standard Chartered Bank.

Additionally, I've spent ten years researching and studying physics at the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble in France, the University of Oxford, the University of Warwick and the University of Cambridge, and have published seven papers in professional physics journals.

I live in Woodford, London, in the United Kingdom and am married with two children. I have been DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked.
